Scope and Contents

The Nave Family Papers consist of original deeds and land grants, tax and business receipts, legal documents, insurance certificates, letters, and photographs related to the descendants of Teter Nave (1745-1805) of Carter County, Tennessee. The collection also contains six notebooks of genealogical material on the Nave Family collected by Robert Tipton Nave and compiled by Luella “Lou” Barron.

Scope and Contents The Jeanne M. Rasmussen Collection contains both manuscript and photographic materials. Manuscript materials include personal correspondence and financial records; drafts of chapters from Rasmussen's unpublished manuscript on coal mining; essays written by Rasmussen on coal mining and other topics relating to Appalachia; and clippings and scrapbook materials on coal mining, the UMWA, and Rasmussen's writing and photography. Scope and Contents The Stewart O. Keen and Virgil E. Keen Papers consists primarily of correspondence written by brothers Stewart Jr. and Virgil Keen from Europe to their family in Mavisdale, Virginia during World War II. The 233 letters (including 68 V-mail letters) contain descriptions of the weather, European civilian life, Germany, France, Belgium, prices for items, and entertainment for enlisted men. Arrangement

The papers span from 1833 to 1977. The files are arranged alphabetically by type of documents within a single series.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of fourteen letters written to Francis Marion Wilson and his wife, Jennie Ferguson. Most of the letters are from Marion's father, Thomas H. Wilson, but there are also messages from Marion's brothers, William Isaac and Jacob, from Marion's sister, Rebecca, from Elizza Grindstaff and from Daisy Ferguson. The Watauga Personnel and Guidance Association Collection consists of the business and organizational records of the WPGA and the UETPGA, together with documents produced by the state organization, the Tennessee Personnel and Guidance Association, and the national organization, the American Personnel and Guidance Association. Also included in the collection are materials produced by other guidance and personnel associations.

Scope and Contents

The Windsor Hotel Records consist primarily of pencil sketches of highway signs used for advertising the hotel between the 1930s and the 1950s. There are also a few letters concerning a possible loan; a list of signs and their locations; a door card from a hotel room; a hand-drawn street map of downtown Johnson City, Tennessee; and a sample of hotel stationery.
