Alta Elizabeth Pardue Keirn Papers
The bulk of the Alta Elizabeth Pardue Keirn Papers consists of photographs from the early twentieth century, including numerous photographs taken at and near East Tennessee State Normal School where Keirn was a student from 1911-1914. The photographs mainly depict other students and school activities, such as sports and theater. There are also several documents, including a brief biographical sketch of Keirn by an unknown author.
Kelly and Green Company Negatives
The collection is organized into two series: Series 1, 5" x 7" negatives and prints; and Series 2, 4" x 5" negatives and prints. The negatives have been placed before the prints. Nitrate negatives have been placed in Box 3, and damaged cellulose diacetate negatives in Box 4.
Kenny Fannon Photograph Collection
The Kenny Fannon Photograph Collection consists of copy prints of photographs of the trains and scenery along the Interstate Railroad and Southern Railway in Southwest Virginia as well as images of people, especially school groups. Thirty of the images were originally photographed with a panoramic camera. According to Fannon, the panoramas were made by a photographer surnamed Jenkins who was active circa 1920 to 1940. The other images appear to be from various sources.

James H. Lambert Letter and Photograph
The James H. Lambert Collection consists of one handwritten letter dated April 1945 from Lambert, then “somewhere in Germany,” to his mother in Bristol, Virginia, and one black and white photograph of Lambert in his army uniform.

London's Hardware Company Photographs and Advertisements
The London's Hardware Company material consists of photocopies of newspaper advertisements from 1930-1969 and 8 x 10 inch black-and-white photographs of the store, most of which depict the interior of the store and its merchandise and layout.

John Alan Maxwell Papers
The papers of John Alan Maxwell document Maxwell’s personal life and his career as a professional artist. The collection includes correspondence, newspaper clippings and magazine articles, printed ephemera, biographical information, information regarding art work and exhibits, and his involvement in such organizations as the Tipton-Haynes Historical Association, Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, and the Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Ruth B. Maxwell Papers
The Ruth B. Maxwell Papers consist of a family lineage chart, correspondence, newsclippings, photographs, and miscellaneous printed ephemera documenting Maxwell’s interest in genealogy and local history, especially her activities in various patriotic organizations. The photographs are primarily images of individuals taken by her husband, Clifford, a professional photographer.
Barbara McDermitt Recordings
The Barbara McDermitt Recordings consist of 28 audiocassette recordings of Ray Hicks, Hattie Presnell, Stanley Hicks and Frank Proffitt, Jr. telling stories, playing music, and singing; 14 photographs, mainly of storytellers; and reports on the field trip tapes as well as a partial transcript of the Ray Hicks tapes. The tapes were recorded in the summer of 1982 in Beech Mountain, North Carolina.

Information to be found in the collection include how contestants were scored, pageant publicity, and biographical information about contestants.
