The Arthur D. (John) Adair collection includes correspondence from Europe to the United States during WWII from August 1943 – February 1946. The letters are primarily written by Adair to his mother in Alabama. The collection also includes a scrapbook, trip memorabilia, photographs from Europe during WWII, WWII related documents, postcards, and newspaper and magazine clippings.
The Colin F. Baxter Collection consists of 36 undated illustrated posters (mounted) documenting events during World War II such as the attack on Pearl Harbor, the war in Europe, the war in North Africa, and the war in the Pacific.
The collection consists of 50 black and white photographs of Paul Hadley Berry taken during World War II, c. 1945. The photographs were believed to have been taken primarily while stationed in Okinawa. Included are scenes in Hawaii, Okinawa, and unidentified locations.
The collection is arranged in five series, as follows: Series 1, Subject Files, 1855-2005 and undated; Series 2, Publications, 1809-1992; and Series 3, Photographs and Photograph Scrapbooks, 1880-1985 and undated; Series 4, Postcards and Tobacco cards, 1907-1967 and undated; and Series 5, Recordings, 1996-2004 and undated.
The collection is organized into three subgroups, as follows: Subgroup 1: Ella V. Ross Papers, 1920-1990 and undated; Subgroup 2: May Ross McDowell Papers, 1915-1988 and undated; and Subgroup 3: Audio-Visual Materials, c. 1910-1987 and undated.
The collection is arranged in five series: Series 1, Personal Papers, 1908-1990s, undated; Series 2, Newspaper Articles and Printed Materials, 1930s-1990, undated; Series 3, Photographs, Negatives, Slides, and Motion Pictures; Series 4, Plaques; and Series 5, Oversized Materials.
The James H. Lambert Collection consists of one handwritten letter dated April 1945 from Lambert, then “somewhere in Germany,” to his mother in Bristol, Virginia, and one black and white photograph of Lambert in his army uniform.

The Rocky Mount Historical Association Collection contains newspaper clippings, cartoons, publications, magazines, correspondence, and documents that pertain to World War II. The collection also includes photographs and documents of the Jack Snider Country Store exhibit at Rocky Mount.
The collection spans from 1938 to 1965 but predominantly from 1944 to 1945.
