Scope and Contents The Elizabeth Jobe Henley Collection consists of correspondence, receipts, an agreement, and a reprint copy of a Confederate $1000 bond that were collected by the Henley family. The early correspondence describes Luther R. Henley's experiences as a soldier during the Mexican-American War and the receipts document many of his acquisitions while an East Tennessee farmer. The agreement describes the personal property that was to be acquired by Elizabeth J. Henley after her second husband's death.
