Scope and Contents This collection consists primarily of oral interviews and research papers relating to folk medicine. This material was collected by ETSU students of Anthony P. Cavender for his Appalachian Folk Medicine course. The interviews on food as medicine were done by students enrolled in his Nutritional Anthropology course. Ed Wolfe Papers

Scope and Contents The Ed Wolfe Papers consist of audiocassettes, transcripts and photographs generated by Mr. Wolfe while he was researching his books on the Interstate Railroad. The content of the audiocassettes is primarily conversations with Mr. Wolfe's father, Hugh Wolfe, 1915-2009, who was a railroad employee from 1937-1978. There are other interviews with Hugh's former co-workers Les Blevins, Jack Long, M.D. Watts, and Ben Williams, as well as with Hugh's brother York Wolfe and Ed's aunt Mary Wolfe.

Scope and Contents The collection consists of recordings of interviews conducted by Gunter's students in connection with his courses on social geography. The interview subjects are primarily from East Tennessee and often discuss topics of regional interest such as music, farm life, coal mining, and foodways. The collection also includes dub sheets for the first eight tapes, partial transcripts of tapes 2, 5 and 6, and summaries of interviews.
