WETS-FM Records
The records are divided into sub-groups according to the serial program or the announcer/producer responsible for creating the records and for their transfer to the archives. To date there are three sub-groups: Sub-group 1: Tom Christy Records; Sub-group 2: Country Roots Radio Series records/Richard Gordon, producer; and Sub-group 3: Ed Price Records. The bulk of the records consist of Tom Christy's materials in Sub-group 1.

William C. Hicks Papers
The William C. Hicks Papers contain personal and business correspondence, receipts, accounting ledgers and a cash book documenting W. C. Hicks' business activities between 1894 and 1927. The business correspondence describes purchase contracts for the acquisition of factory equipment for the "Midget" Roller Flour and Corn Meal Company and the Virginia Rural Retreat Water Mills. The personal correspondence documents Hicks' involvement with the sales of the Eldredge and Forkner Estates.

The collection is organized into four series: Series 1, Sewerage and Hydraulic Engineering Projects, 1958-1965; Series 2, Index of River and Harbor Projects, 1950-1964; Series 3, Pike Island Locks and Dam Project, 1960-1964; and Series 4, Maxwell Locks and Dam Project, 1959-1964.

William Henley Nelson Family Papers
The collection is divided into four series: Series 1, Military and Political Records, 1866-1934; Series 2, Personal and Family Correspondence, 1861-1973; Series 3, Newsclippings and Memorabilia, 1875-1910; and Series 4, Family Photographs, c. 1862-1973.
The materials in the addition were added to Series 2, Series 3, and Series 4, while Series 5 was created for the Elinor Farina Papers.
William Hopper Papers
The William Hopper Papers consists of a letter along with photocopies of genealogical materials and military papers related to Hopper's activities during and after the Civil War. The letter sent by Hopper, while stationed in Helena, Arkansas, to his wife in Iowa reflects the feeling of discontent that Hopper and his colleagues experienced during the Civil War. The letter addresses the issues of the war from the soldier's point of view.
William L. and Gowan Merson Smith Recordings
The William L. and Gowan Merson Smith Recordings consist of 78 open reel audiotapes and 5 audiocassettes. They include tapes of William and Gowan Smith, live and home performances of fiddle playing, compilations of recorded fiddle playing, and tapes of mass-produced television, radio, and commercial fiddle recordings.

William Sullivan Ledgers
The collection reflects aspects of William Sullivan's life, family history, and business 1864-1911. Sullivan's letter from a camp near Fredricksburg, Virginia in 1864 describes his attitude towards the Civil War in that year. Copies of pages from his 1879 ledger outline his police duties for that year and detail his genealogy. (Some copies are illegible.) His 1911 ledger lists accounts for the Mitchell Powers Company and reflects church and business construction for the year 1911.

Walter Clement Wilson Papers
The Walter C. Wilson Papers contain newsclippings, correspondence, and memorabilia reflecting Wilson's professional career at East Tennessee State College. The bulk of the material centers around the 1937 honors he received for 26 years of service to the college and correspondence reflecting appreciation for his outstanding work from former pupils and associates.
Windsor Hotel Records
The Windsor Hotel Records consist primarily of pencil sketches of highway signs used for advertising the hotel between the 1930s and the 1950s. There are also a few letters concerning a possible loan; a list of signs and their locations; a door card from a hotel room; a hand-drawn street map of downtown Johnson City, Tennessee; and a sample of hotel stationery.
Nat T. Winston Papers
The Nat T. Winston Papers consist of documents from, by, and about the Taylor and Winston families of East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. The papers include correspondence, land deeds, diplomas, receipts, and other memorabilia. There are two documents concerning enslaved people: A collateral bond and an agreement between Winston family members pertaining to property.

Woman's Diary
Women Coal Miners Reunion
The Women Coal Miners reunion brought together current and former women coal miners and their families from the United States and England. The event was organized by Marat Moore and held in Jonesborough, Tennessee at the Archives of Appalachia, the Jonesborough Repertory Theatre and the host hotel. This collection consists of materials generated for and during the event, including excerpts from video interviews with 13 women coal miners and the son of a woman coal miner.
Women's Faculty Club of East Tennessee State University
The Women's Faculty Club records include the constitution and amendments, minutes, yearbooks, membership lists, financial records, publicity, programs, correspondence, invitation list, scrapbooks and programs, plans for socials, and photographs documenting the history and functioning of the organization.
Women's Studies Program Collection
The Women's Studies Program Collection consists of student essays on female friends and family members. Most of the women depicted in these essays have a connection to Appalachia.
Women’s Studies Steering Committee Records
The Women’s Studies Steering Committee records document the activities of this academic committee in developing a curriculum and managing the women’s studies minor at ETSU. Course development, enrollment, and other curriculum issues are examined in the collection. Materials include correspondence, reports, studies, surveys, memoranda, and related office files for the period chiefly between 1991-1997.
World War II in East Tennessee Collection
The materials in this collection relate to the World War II (1941-45) work of the Holston Ordnance Works, Kingsport, Tennessee. Included in the collection are photographic prints of the works, photo exhibit captions from the ETSU history department exhibit on Holston, informational materials and posters.
WSJK-TV Programs
The WSJK-TV Collection consists of fifteen (15) videotapes of television programs that focus on the history and culture of East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and western North Carolina. Most were produced for Outlook which, acccording to the introduction to the panel with Jesse Stuart, was a "special program designed to bring you happenings in and around East Tennessee."
