Scott Honeycutt Ramble Maps
Scott Honeycutt's Ramble Maps are pictorial maps depicting people and places of Southern Appalachia. The creation of the maps of the Cherokee, Pisgah, and Nantahala National Forests was supported with funding from the Margaret Anne Byrd Huffman Archives of Appalachia Endowment Grant.
Hoover Day Parade Tape
One VHS tape copied from a 3 1/2 minute film of the October 6, 1928 campaign parade by Republican presidential candidate Herbert C. Hoover in Elizabethton, Tennessee. The recording depicts scenes along the parade route on Elk Avenue and West Main, ending at Harmon Field.
Harold E. Hopkins Papers
The Harold E. Hopkins Papers consist of booklets related to piloting an aircraft, a pilot log book; his college diploma and other material related to Hopkins’ schooling at East Tennessee State College; documents related to his military service; newspaper clippings (mostly related to his time at ETSC); a map; and miscellaneous items. The collection provides background and insight into Hopkins life and teaching career.
Horace C. Atwater Papers
The collection is organized into three series, as follows: Series 1, Diary, 1836-1838 and undated; Series 2, Lecture Notes and Sermons, 1842-1875 and undated; and Series 3, Oversized Material, c. 2005.

Huddle Mill Photographs
The collection comprises two images of a mill believed to be the Huddle Mill near Kingsport, Tennessee. The first image, of which there are two copies, is a mounted photograph of six men and a dog in front of a building identified on the reverse as "Horn Mill-1850 / Huddle Mill-1900." The second image is a copy print of what appears to be the same mill taken from a different angle.

Edward Chalmers Huffaker Papers
The collection consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence between Edward Chalmers Huffaker of Chuckey, Tennessee and his family members and professional colleagues. Most of the correspondence is either to or from Huffaker’s wife, Carrie Sue Redding Huffaker or other Huffaker family members and discusses matters of personal interest and family affairs with only a few of the letters concerning Huffaker’s interest in aeronautics and manned flight.

The materials document various events in the Byrd, Ruble and Huffman families of Johnson City, Tennessee and Limestone, Tennessee.

John R. Hughes Ephemera
This collection consists of a form soliciting names of whiskey drinkers for M. I. Hessberg Son & Co., Inc. of Bristol, Virginia; a pledge card for War Savings Stamps; and the Platform of the Republican Party of North Carolina, Adopted in State Convention at Charlotte, August 26, 1908.
Robert F. Hull, Jr. Collection
The Robert F. Hull, Jr. Collection reflects Professor Hull's interest in the folk music of the Southern Appalachian region. The collection consists of songbooks of various country musicians, a single copy of a music periodical, a publication illustrating various musicians who appeared on the Grand Ole Opry (radio program), and two copies of an interview with Doc Watson, the Grammy Award-winning musician.
Human Economic Appalachian Development (HEAD) Corporation Records
The records of the Human Economic Appalachian Development Corporation reflect its organization and activities for 1974-1980. It includes organizational papers, survey, annual reports, publications, and newsclippings.
Steven Craig Hurd Map Collection
This Stephen Craig Hurd Map Collection consists of framed and unframed maps, primarily of Tennessee and bordering states. In addition to the paper maps, there is a set of drinking glasses printed with a map of Tennessee. Most of the maps were originally found in atlases, but the collection also includes pictorial maps and road maps. Stephen Hurd framed and matted the maps.
Hurricane Grange, No. 523 Minute Book
The Hurricane Grange, No. 523 Minute Book consists of one handwritten minute book of the Patrons of Husbandry, Hurricane Grange, No. 523 and a typed transcript of the same. There are also three handwritten pages of notes about individual Grange members, mostly to do with property ownership. The minute book contains membership information and details of meetings.
Hyatt-Cretsinger Family Papers
The papers of the Hyatt-Cretsinger family consist of financial papers, correspondence, Christmas and greeting cards, land boundaries, income tax returns, and family photographs. This material documents activities of the families primarily in the mid to late 20th century.
Gretchen Hyder Collection
The papers of Gretchen Hyder include correspondence between Hyder and educational officials, teachers, speakers for workshops, lists of members, reports, plans, programs and bulletins of conferences.

Oris Hyder Film Collection
The films in the collection were taken by Hyder's father, Sam Jack Hyder who began taking 16 mm home movies after he purchased a movie camera in 1937. The films focus on family members and life, and on life at Milligan College. The collection is shelved in the audio-visual storage area.

Institutional Review Board Records
The Institutional Review Board Records contain the office files of Roy D. Ikenberry, director of Institutional Research in the 1980s; computer printouts regarding ETSU registration and enrollment for student workers; records of funds generated; market analysis; and hours produced.
Department of Intercollegiate Athletics Records
The collection consists of photographs, correspondence, and other records documenting the general operation of the ETSU Athletic Training Office/Intercollegiate Athletics Department. Also included are films: the 1969 Rice Bowl and ETSU Homecoming; and ETSU football game tapes from 1999-2002.
International Woodworkers of America, Local 5-313 Records
The collection contains documents produced by the international office of the woodworkers union, and by Magnavox, but it consists primarily of Local 5-313 records. Included are contracts between the local and company; negotiation session notes taken by local members; membership and financial records; grievance reports; photographs; international publications; court transcripts; and news clippings, mainly on the 1967 strike.
IPC Dennison Company Collection
The IPC Dennison Company Collection consists of examples of tobacco and non-tobacco labels that were printed by the International Playing Card and Label Company and the IPC Dennison Company.

Jack Tottle Bluegrass and Old Time Music Collection
The Jack Tottle Bluegrass and Old Time Music Collection consists of one series of audio tapes. The tapes are arranged according to the original list given to the archives by Jack Tottle. The tapes are numbered consecutively. The master tapes are reel-to-reel audio; cassette user copies have been dubbed from the masters. Each tape (with a few exceptions) contains a detailed list of that tape's contents.
James A. Goforth Collection
The Goforth Collection includes copy negatives with corresponding prints, engineering drawings, and maps relating to the develoment of railroads in Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina. The prints and negatives depict places along the Carolina, Clinchfield and Ohio Railway. These were taken in the months from August through October 1909. The engineering drawings include specifications for bridges, tunnels, stations, pump houses, dwellings, trestles and loading platforms.
