The Bell Collection consists primarily of copies of images relating to life in East Tennessee. There are images of the Kitzmiller house which was in Gray, Tennessee until the 1960s; various church gatherings; structures; and businesses. There is also a small handwritten booklet containing several home remedies and photocopies of the family history pages in a Miller family Bible.
The collection is arranged in three series, as follows: Series 1, Subject Files, 1890-2001 and undated, Boxes 1-2 and oversized folder 1; Series 2, Photographs, 2000 and undated, Box 3; and Series 3, Audio-Visual Recordings, 2000 and undated, Box 4.

The collection consists of recordings of interviews conducted by Gunter's students in connection with his courses on social geography. The interview subjects are primarily from East Tennessee and often discuss topics of regional interest such as music, farm life, coal mining, and foodways. The collection also includes dub sheets for the first eight tapes, partial transcripts of tapes 2, 5 and 6, and summaries of interviews.
The material is arranged into three series: Series 1 Historical Papers-Photocopies and Research Notes, 1777-1981; Series 2, Historical Papers, 1821-1987; and Series 3, Scrapbook Materials, 1789-1975.

The WSJK-TV Collection consists of fifteen (15) videotapes of television programs that focus on the history and culture of East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and western North Carolina. Most were produced for Outlook which, acccording to the introduction to the panel with Jesse Stuart, was a "special program designed to bring you happenings in and around East Tennessee."
