Rocky Mount Historical Association Collection
The Rocky Mount Historical Association Collection contains newspaper clippings, cartoons, publications, magazines, correspondence, and documents that pertain to World War II. The collection also includes photographs and documents of the Jack Snider Country Store exhibit at Rocky Mount.
The collection spans from 1938 to 1965 but predominantly from 1944 to 1945.
Ron D. Vance and Barbara H. Wickersham Collection
The Ron D. Vance and Barbara H. Wickersham Collection contains oral history tapes, transcripts, and subject files relating to the “History of the Highlands According to the People Who Lived It,” an oral history project funded by the University of Tennessee. The collection also includes photographs of interviewees as well as a Fox and Geese game board with marbles. The collection documents the history and culture of the Highlands of Roan in East Tennessee and western North Carolina.
Cecil Rose Collection
The Cecil Rose collection includes writings by Rose, clippings from magazines and newspapers, and photographs primarily on Southwest Virginia and West Virginia history. Among the subjects covered in the collection are local feuds, mining, and lawmen and outlaws. The five black and white 5" x 7" photographs are copies which have been placed in the appropriate subject file.

The collection consists of one photograph album containing photographs showing the construction of East Tennessee and Western North Carolina Railroad in the Doe River Gorge near Hampton, Tennessee. The album appears to have been professionally produced, possibly for promotional purposes.
Shady Oaks Garden Club Records
The materials include meeting and membership information as well as Garden Club programs, photographs, scrapbooks, and a blueprint.
Sherfey Family Genealogy
The collection consists of two photographs; the Sherfey Family genealogy, 1751-1963; a letter with information about Magdalena Sherfey; a photocopy of pages from a copybook; a photocopy of Magdalena Sherfey's "Record of Midwifery's Labor"; and a newspaper article about the Sherfey family in East Tennessee during the Civil War.

This collection reflects Benny Sims' interest in bluegrass and country music memorabilia during the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s.

Department of Sociology and Anthropology Records
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology Records documents the administrative functioning of the department between the mid-1960s and the 1980s and provides insight into such departmental issues as budgeting, teaching loads, curriculum development, and faculty activities. The collection consists principally of office files maintained by the department chair, including correspondence, memoranda, reports, course information, and financial records.
Soil Conservation Service Photographs
The prints are arranged in one series in the original order established by the Soil Conservation Service. Each box contains folders with prints from southeastern United States counties. When known, the date on which the photographs were taken is given after the county and state name. The prints are stored in the Archives' special environment room.

The collection consists of material pertaining to the early years of the ET&WNC Railroad and to the last years of the ET&WNC Transportation Company. ET&WNC Railroad material includes correspondence and other historical documents as well as articles about the railroad, photographs and postcards. The ET&WNC Transportation Company material includes marketing material, employee photographs, the Red Ball Motor Freight Offer to Purchase and a financial statement.
Alfred Alexander Taylor Family Papers
The Alfred Alexander Taylor Family papers contain advertisements, correspondence, copies of campaign memorabilia, family photographs, newsclippings, speeches, and published tributes reflecting Taylor's political career and family life. Most of the papers were created through coverage of Taylor's political responsibilities. Some material concerning his wife, Jennie, and son, Benjamin H. Taylor, are included in the collection.
Tennessee Valley Authority Photograph Album
The album pages have been removed from the album binding and placed in original page order in folders. Loose photographs are grouped together in one folder, and loose album pages are placed after loose photographs.

The Tour of Downtown Johnson City Brochure was a product of Transitions, a Junior Achievement company of Science Hill High School, Johnson City, Tennessee. The brochure describes several historic structures in downtown Johnson City, Tennessee. The materials include a copy of the brochure, typed drafts of the text for the brochure, a mockup of the brochure, and eight photographs, most of which were used in the brochure.
