Pearl Templin Rankin Photograph Albums and Diploma
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of Rankin's photograph album which includes photographs taken while she attended East Tennessee State Normal School (ETSNS) and during her subsequent teaching career at Piedmont school. The photographs are of classmates, faculty, staff, students, and scenes of ETSNS and Johnson City. The album contains several unidentified and undated photographs of landscapes, buildings, and people though all appear to be from the same period. This collection also contains Rankin's original teaching diploma from ETSNC in an oversize folder. The primary dates of the collection are from 1919-1924.

Language of Materials
The pages of the first album were removed from the album cover and placed in original page order in folders. Loose photographs are grouped together in one folder. The second album was in good condition and remains intact.
Method of Acquisition
William Templin donated the collection to the Archives of Appalachia on May 20, 2014 and January 30, 2015, accession numbers 2014-029 and 2015-003.
