Robert Miller and Mark Bean Miller Letters
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of seven letters from Robert Miller to his oldest son Mark Bean Miller and two letters from Mark Bean Miller to his wife Emma (Coleman) Miller. Robert Miller's letters are concerned with family and farming matters as well as details of his work and pay during his time working on the construction of the East Tennessee Hospital for the Insane in Knoxville, Tennessee. Mark's letters are brief and discuss family and money matters.
In addition to the letters, there is a handwritten notation of Miller births, marriages and deaths; a compact disc of scans of the letters; and a spiral bound volume of transcriptions of the letters, family data and background information.

Marolyn Miller Sayre-Smith and Barbara Miller Reeves donated this collection to the Archives of Appalachia in March 2013, accession 2013-011.
