The collection contains records and documents relating to the activities of the Center for Appalachian Studies and Services. It includes: 'Now and Then' magazine records, photographs, bluegrass recordings, video and audio recordings of interviews, transcripts of interviews, music recordings, correspondence, and other materials.

Gift of Richard Blaustein, Joyce Duncan, Pat Arnow, Lucinda Foldin, and others.
Copies of LP records produced by the Center for Appalachian Studies and Services, Down Around Bowmantown and Relics & Treasure by Uncle Charlie Osborne, have been added to the Archives of Appalachia media collection. The archival collection contains source material and other documentation for these productions.
The posters and other oversize material were processed by Jen Bingham in June 2013.
