Scope and Contents

The collection consists of audio recordings containing lectures presented by Mike Lofaro on the literature and culture of the Trans-Appalachian West and the history of Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett; Anne LeCroy presenting on Virgil's Aeneid; presentations by Rafe Martin, storyteller, and Rita Quillen, poet; presentation by Don Johnson, poet; and lecture by Roger Jerome on British and Appalachian folklore as represented in 'The Stranger's Voice.' These lectures were presented in Robert "Jack" Higgs and Roberta Herrin's course Appalachian Literature and World Classics.
