Bluegrass and Old-time Music Program Collection
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of: commercial LPs of bluegrass, country, and gospel performers, including Roy Acuff, Bill Monroe, Ralph Stanley, the Osbourne Brothers, Hank Williams, Flatt and Scruggs, Ricky Skaggs, and Willie Nelson; seven recordings of the ETSU Pride Bluegrass Band and other student bands at the Paramount Theatre (Bristol), Renaissance Center (Kingsport, Tenn.), Wigham Elementary School (Georgia), and Cloudland Elementary (Roan Mountain, Tenn.); one recording of the Patsy Stoneman Seminar (2005); student performances at Down Home (April 22, 2003); video recording "The ETSU Senior Bluegrass Band Live and in Concert" at the Down Home; sound recording of "listening Assignment Harmony Singing and Bluegrass Seminar"; 2 sound recordings of "Bluegrass Music-First generation" (Hillbilly music, Monroe Brothers, and Bill Monroe 1938-1945); 1 DVD "ETSU Bluegrass Band Orient Express Live in Japan Bluegrass Tour"; and materials used for Bluegrass, Old-time, and country music seminar in the Fall of 2007.
