Scope and Contents

The Katie Hoffman Papers consist of research notes, correspondence, newspaper clippings, magazine articles, oral histories, memorabilia, and photographs, related to the Melungeon community in Vardy, Tennessee, the Greene County Anti-Road campaign, Appalachian music, and genealogical research. Dr. Hoffman completed the majority of the research included in this collection as part of her postgraduate education between 2000 and 2004.
