Lewis Deneumoustier Collection
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of bluegrass and country music memorabilia created or acquired by Lewis Deneumoustier over a period of several decades. Among the materials are serial publications, song and picture folios, fan club journals, sheet music, photographs, posters, trading cards, and flyers from concerts and festivals. In addition there are materials relating to Deneumoustier’s tenure as the editor of the Disc Collector newsletter.

The collection is arranged in eight series: Series 1, Office Files; Series 2, Bluegrass and Country Music Festivals, Concerts, and Gatherings; Series 3, Publications; Series 4, Promotional Materials; Series 5, Collectibles; Series 6, Photographs; Series 7, Scrapbooks; Series 8, Oversize.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Frances Deneumoustier donated the bulk of the collection in June 2007, accession 2007-050. She contributed additional materials in August 2007 and April 2008, accessions 2007-084 and 2008-025.
The Deneumoustier donation included a music collection of approximately 23,695 bluegrass and country sound recordings in various formats (45s, 78s, cassettes, compact discs, LPs, reel-to-reel audio tapes, and VHS tapes). While these are not listed here, the archives has Deneumoustier's indexes to his recordings and will search for titles and artists on request.
The bulk of the processing was completed by Nathaniel Skaggs in December 2016. Additional processing was completed by Jen Bingham in June 2018.
