East Tennessee State University Faculty List and Bibliography
Scope and Contents
The ETSU Faculty List and Bibliography, 1911-1961, is a card file consisting of two sections arranged alphabetically by faculty member name. The first section contains a list of faculty members who served the institution for three quarters or more (excluding military personnel and those specially hired by the government proceeding and during World War II), while the second section contains a list of part-time and summer term faculty. For each faculty member listed in the first section, an identifier card contains the faculty member's name, department, dates of employment, educational history, and other biographical information. Identifier cards in the second section may contain only the faculty member's name and dates of employment. In both sections bibliographical information for each faculty member is recorded on cards which are arranged chronologically and filed after the respective identifier card. In general the bibliography includes published materials (articles, papers, monographs, or books), unpublished theses or dissertations, and book reviews. Publications written prior to, during, and up to five years after employment at the university are listed in the bibliography.
Additional information regarding the compilation of the faculty list and bibliography can be found on pp. 3-10 of Ms. Darling's thesis.
