Scope and Contents
The College of Arts and Sciences Promotional Tapes consists of four 3/4" videotapes of interviews with various persons in the East Tennessee State University community and the Johnson City, Tennessee community concerning the value of a liberal arts education along with one 3/4" videotape of upper and middle class homes within the Johnson City area. The first four videotapes include interviews with Dr. Dorothy C. Dobbins, associate dean, College of Medicine, Student Affairs, ETSU (length: 13:05); William R. Garwood, president of Tennessee Eastman Company (length: 2:49); Dr. Hugh LaFollette, professor of philosophy and humanities, ETSU (length: 16:36); and Kenneth V. Spenser, vice president of Texas Instruments (length: 12:57).
