The Maxine Kenny Collection documents Kenny's involvement and interest in environmental issues related to Appalachia and includes subject files (correspondence, newspaper clippings, reports, etc.) and material (recorded interviews and transcripts) related to three radio programs produced by Kenny: "Down to Earth: the Appalachian Family Farm," "Dungannon: A Place in History," and "A Time To Reap."

Method of Acquisition

The Maxine Kenny Collection was donated to the Archives of Appalachia on November 7, 1994 by Maxine Kenny, Nickelsville, Virginia.

Separated Materials

The following maps were removed from this collection and added to the Archives of Appalachia map collection:

Processing Information

Ned Irwin completed processing, and the collection was opened to researchers in March 1997.
