The Johnson City/Jonesborough/Washington County Economic Development Board, Inc. Collection consists of eight scrapbooks that document the activities of the board to promote local economic, commercial, and industrial development during the period 1965-1995. Material found in the scrapbooks consists of newspaper clippings, primarily from the Johnson City newspaper related to economic development, industrial promotion, plant and company openings, etc.

Method of Acquisition

The Johnson City/Jonesborough/Washington County Economic Development Board, Inc. Collection was donated on behalf of the board to the Archives of Appalachia by Alan Bridwell, Johnson City, Tenn., on November 9, 2007. The scrapbooks in this collection were saved by Eddie Williams Jr. and Ed Williams III. They were presented to Alan Bridwell by Ellen Williams Rak, daughter of Eddie Williams Jr.
