Harvey Lee Hughett Collection
Scope and Contents
The Harvey Lee Hughett Collection consists of 120 reel-to-reel tape recordings made between 1950 and 1977 of religious meetings at various East Tennessee churches, singing, "homecomings," folk music, and informal interviews with rural people.

Arrangement
Hughett's tape numbers were maintained. Gaps in numbering indicate that either the Archives did not receive the tape or that the condition was such that the Archives was unable to review the tape and confirm the contents.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
The Harvey Lee Hughett Collection was donated to the Archives of Appalachia on March 19, 1990 by Harvey Lee Hughett, Jr., Moscow, Idaho.
Existence and Location of Copies
There are cassette user copies of the reel-to-reel tapes. In addition, the bulk of the collection has been digitally preserved. Unless listing for a specific recording indicates that there is a digital user copy available, digital user copies are only available on demand and require extra lead time to access.
