The collection is divided into four series: Series 1, Organizational Records, 1908-1972 and undated; Series 2, Activities’ Records, 1918-1979 and undated; Series 3, Publications, 1932-1987 and undated; and Series 4, Miscellaneous Reports, Pamphlets, and Certificates, 1924-86 and undated.
Method of Acquisition
The records of the John Sevier Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, were donated to the Archives of Appalachia in two separate donations. Martha Bradley made the first donation on March 6, 1979 and Mary Poteat made the second donation on September 25, 1989. Archives’ staff completed processing of the original donation in July 1979 and of the second donation in September 1998.
