Scope and Contents

The S. T. O'Dell Ledger consists of a business ledger that documents the services performed from April 1917 to June 1919 by Seth T. O'Dell for companies and private individuals, including making wagon axles, wagon tires, star drills, and chisels, painting automobiles, repairing locks, wagons, buggies, and automobile bodies, filing saws, grinding axes, and sharpening picks. Each entry in the ledger includes the date, the name of the customer, the services performed, and the charge for each service.

The materials consist of one ledger and one folder of loose documents which were removed from the ledger for preservation purposes.

Method of Acquisition

The S. T. O'Dell Ledger was purchased from R.R. Allen Books of Knoxville, Tennessee with money donated by Lucy Gump, accession 1996-027.
