Thomas Phillips Memoir
Scope and Contents
The Thomas Jay Phillips memoir, titled "My Life: A Recollection from Thomas J. Phillips I," is a typescript reminiscence of his life prepared and footnoted by Phillips' great-grandaughter Elizabeth Jane Phillips. In it, Phillips tells his story beginning with his early recollections of life in Cranberry, North Carolina in the 1880s and continuing through his time as an apprentice blacksmith in New Jersey.
