The collection consists of 50 black and white photographs of Paul Hadley Berry taken during World War II, c. 1945. The photographs were believed to have been taken primarily while stationed in Okinawa. Included are scenes in Hawaii, Okinawa, and unidentified locations.

The photographs of the Carol Berry Collection were donated to the Archives of Appalachia on February 1, 1999 by Carol Berry of Elizabethton, Tennessee.
