Scope and Contents
The tape is a 30-minute Omni Celebration '86 program produced by the Division of Broadcasting, Department of Communication, ETSU. The host for this program was Laura James, and the guests were Hazel Gann and Cynthia Burnley. Mrs. Gann and Dr. Burnley briefly discussed the Unicoi County women who were the subjects of the retired teachers association project. Highlights of the association's slide/tape program also were shown. The woman who were the subjects of this study include Minta Carter, Jenny Moore, Elizabeth W. Roberts, Mamie Fuller Cook, Doak W. Bowman, Alma Broce, Kathleen Moody, Anna Brown Whitlow, and Pauline Vaughn.

The Unicoi County, Tennessee Retired Teachers Association tape was donated to the Archives of Appalachia by Thomas Headley, Communications Department, East Tennessee State University (ETSU) on January 20, 1987.
Processing Information
Marie Tedesco completed processing and the tape was opened for research in November 1987.
