Biography
Robert Love Taylor was the son of Nathaniel Greene Taylor, and brother to Alfred A. Taylor. Robert and Alfred ran against each other for the governorship of Tennessee in the famed "War of the Roses" in 1896. Robert won the campaign, and served as Governor of Tennessee from 1887-1891 and again from 1897-1899. Robert was also elected as a U.S. Senator in 1907, until his death in 1912.
