Biography
Bertram S. Allen, Jr., was born in Richmond, Virginia, in 1946. After graduating from Milligan College in 1967, he attended law school for a brief period before being drafted into military service in 1968. From 1968 to 1970, he served in Vietnam with the United States Army's 25th Infantry Division. Initially assigned to an artillery unit, he later wrote for the division newspaper and public information office.
Following his discharge from military service, he attended Lehigh University, where he earned M.Ed. (1972) and Ed.D. (1977) degrees in counseling. He was employed by Milligan College as a psychology professor from 1979 until his retirement in 2012.

The Bertram S.
