Diehl, David, b. 1813

  • Existence: b. 1813

David Diehl was a farmer and cooper in Rockingham County, Virginia in the early 1850s. He had eleven children and was a member of the German Baptist Church, the forerunner of the Brethren Church. In 1856, Diehl moved his family with two other families to East Tennessee. The move was probably made because of the anti-slavery beliefs of the three families. Diehl acquired a farm five miles northwest of Jonesborough, Tennessee, in what is now the Pleasant Valley community, Washington County, Tennessee.
