Biography
William Henley Nelson (1837-1935), one of ten children of James and Eleanor (Parks) Nelson, was born in Washington County, Tennessee and raised in Abingdon, Virginia after his parents' death. Nelson's career as a military soldier, farmer, Tennessee county court judge, and state representative, illustrates both his diverse professional pursuits and his devotion to Tennessee's continued economic and political development.
