Hobson, Clarence W., 1903-1997

Clarence W. Hobson was born in 1903 and grew up on a Roan Mountain farm. After high school, he taught in his native Mitchell Co., N. C., before attending Draughon Business College, Knoxville, Tenn. He worked for many years at Dosser's Department Store in Johnson City, Tenn., where he retired as manager in 1972. In his memoirs, Hobson recounts many of these experiences. Clarence W. Hobson died on May 26, 1997 at his home in Johnson City, Tennessee.

The material covers the period 1857-1993 and relates to Hobson's life experiences, along with material related to the Dosser family business interests.
