Biography

James Lambert was born on May 16, 1921 in Boone, North Carolina, the son of Hiram and Lilly Smith Lambert. Lambert served in the United States Army in World War II, entering military service on October 15, 1942. After training, he served in England, France, and Germany from 1943 to 1945. He was a member of the 83rd Division and saw action in the campaigns at Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. Lambert died in Bristol, Virginia on September 14, 1987.
