Biography

Maxine Kenny graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Michigan in 1961 and served as a writer and photographer for various newspapers and periodicals, including The Saginaw News, Technology Review, and the Caledonian Record. She has taught photography in Scott County, Virginia, public schools and at Clinch Valley College and worked in both film and radio for Appalshop, Inc. A social activist, author, and photographer, her work has appeared in Southern Exposure, Mountain Review and The Plow, among others.
