Carl Sauceman was born March 6, 1922 in Greene County, Tennessee, the son of Alvin and Anna Sauceman. He performed bluegrass and gospel music on radio stations in North Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama, often with his brother, J.P. Sauceman. In the 1940s, he played with his band, the Hillbilly Ramblers. By 1952 he was affiliated with station WRAG in Alabama, this time with the Green Valley Boys. In the 1960s, he owned and ran radio station WSLG in Gonzales, Lousiana. He retired in 1985 and died in Gonzales on January 28, 2005.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of seven audio recordings of radio show sets played by Carl Sauceman and the Green Valley Boys in the 1960s. The radio station was probably WRAG in Carrollton, Alabama.
