Biography
Helen Hollingsworth was a professor in the Department of English at East Tennessee State University. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in 1958 and a master of arts in 1959 from the University of Alabama. After completing a doctorate in English literature from the University of Tennessee in 1971, Hollingsworth joined the faculty of East Tennessee State University.
During her tenure at the university, she served on such departmental committees as the Freshman English Committee, Majors and Minors Committee, and the Curriculum Committee. In addition to her teaching and departmental responsibilities, Hollingsworth served also as a member of a Dean of Arts and Sciences Search Committee and faculty advisor for the Mockingbird, an annual student publication produced through the English department.
