Biographical Note
Oscar Lloyd "Ott" Blair was born in North Carolina on September 9, 1894, the son of Henry Lee Blair and Emma Clementine Matheson. He was married to Myrtle Bell Stansberry; they had seven children. Blair died in Avery County, North Carolina on June 4, 1975.

The Thomas Burton and Jack Schrader films resulted from a partnership that began in the 1970s, when Burton began working with Schrader to produce They Shall Take Up Serpents, a documentary film on serpent handling in religious services.
