Biography
Oscar James "Jimmy" Stoneman, born March 8, 1937, was the twelfth surviving child of Ernest and Hattie Stoneman. He had one daughter, Jeanette, by his first wife, Peggy Brain. He had no children by his second wife, Mary Grubb Urich. Jimmy was an accomplished bass player who began his career on an instrument made by his father, Ernest, out of an old drum. It looked like a giant banjo and was called "The Whomper."Jimmy passed away September 23, 2002.
