Gregg, Margaret, 1940-
Biography
Margaret Gregg, artist and social activist, originally from Chicago, Ill., graduated from the College of Mt. Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio with a bachelor's degree, received a master's degree from the Cambridge-Goddard Graduate School for Social Change, and a masters of fine arts degree from East Tennessee State University. She has worked as a studio artist, a faculty member at the Lithuanian Institute of Art and East Tennessee State University, a graphic artist for NCI Appalachia Leadership Initiative, research coordinator for the James Agee Film Project, and as an executive director for Broadside Television, Inc. Beginning in the 1960s, she became noted for creating poster art for social movements in the Appalachian region.
