Biography
The Department of Dental Hygiene was organized in 1968 within the College of Health. It operates at present under the College of Public and Allied Health. In 1969 the first class of students enrolled with Dr. James Vaught as department chair. Fully accredited by the Commission on Dental Acceditation of the American Dental Association, the department trains students for careers in the dental health field.
