Carroll Reece Museum (Johnson City, Tenn.)
According to an article in the Johnson City Chronicle, dated November 23, 1933, "The museum (at State Teachers College) began as a history project..." which proved to be the birth of the repository which ultimately emerged as the B. Carroll Reece Museum. Dr. C. C. Sherrod, college president, personally solicited gifts to be housed in a ". . . large, fireproof library in which we are setting apart one whole floor for a museum."
