Scope and Contents

The Butler Project Collection consists of a carousel of 101 35mm slides, a 60-minute audio cassette narration, and narration notes and slide cues. The program concerns the 1983 draw down of Watauga Lake and the reminiscences of individuals who remember Butler (Old Butler), Tenn., before the Tennessee Valley Authority lake covered the town in 1948.

Scope and Contents

The Johnson City Power Board Records consist of financial statements, records of disbursements, lists of customers, monthly reports, power distribution monthly reports submitted to the Tennessee Valley Authority, rate schedules, contracts between the utility and the Tennessee Valley Authority, and an analysis of the utility's rates. Most of the records are dated from 1956 to 1980, while a few records are undated.

Scope and Contents The Johnson City Press newsclippings consist of clipped newspaper articles maintained by Johnson City Press staff writers and reporters on local, regional and national topics. Also included are daily and by-line columns of the paper. Lists of articles written on envelopes which contained the clippings have been kept and filed with the appropriate subject.
