The typescript is titled Life History of Hon. Walter P. Brownlow and Historical Data the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers, 1901-1955. Most of the Brownlow information appears to be cribbed from other documents such as the memorial addresses delivered in the House of Representatives. The greater portion of the typescript consists of information about what is now the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center and includes descriptions of the grounds, history, commentary, and numerous tipped-in photographs, many taken by Fidel González. A letter from González to Hal Smith, the ETSU Librarian, is filed after the typescript.
