This collection contains eight handwritten letters from Charles Micheal McKinney to Jerry Shuttle in Bluff City, Tennessee from October 23, 1966 until March 25, 1967. McKinney was a Private First Class in the Second Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment during the Vietnam War and these letters detail events and emotions he experienced while serving. They discuss his daily activities, the weather, the training he was receiving, the girls he knew, his various locations, and the pride in his battalion that accompanied his disgust of war.
