This collection consists of recorded interviews, interview transcripts, interview summaries, and interview description sheets for the Language and Medicine in the Appalachian South project conducted by East Tennessee State University professor Anthony Cavender in 1989. Interviews were conducted by ETSU students and ETSU faculty and staff, including Center for Appalachian Studies and Services staff. The data from this survey were compiled in the 1990 publication "A Folk Medical Lexicon of South Central Appalachia."
