The East Tennessee State University Athletic Committee papers contain the minutes of meetings, arguments for admittance into the NCAA Southern Conference, plans for the construction of Memorial Center, and statements regarding local and regional press releases documenting the general activities of the ETSU Athletic Department between 1956 and 1977. The meeting minutes give detailed descriptions of the different types of relationships that existed between the athletics department and the general university community.
The records are arranged chronologically according to the dates of the Athletic Committee meetings.
