Method of Acquisition

John Black's daughter Maude McGaha donated the materials to the B. Carroll Reece Museum on July 1, 1970. The collection was transferred to the Archives of Appalachia, where it was processed as part of the B. Carroll Reece Papers (AppMs 3). On January 30, 1997 the collection was removed from the B. Carroll Reece Museum Papers and accessioned as a separate collection, accession number 1997-005.

Processing Information

Ed Speer completed processing, and the collection was opened to researchers in February 1997.
