The Christy Family Papers consists of materials relating to Thomas Calvin Christy's work on radio and television programs. The papers include correspondence, audio and video recordings, photographs, and personal documents pertaining to the Christy Family.
The Christy Family Papers are divided into two series: Series 1, Thomas Calvin Christy: Subject Files, 1970-84, Box 1, and Series 2, Audio and Video Materials, 1951-82. Series 1 contains biographical information, work-related materials, financial and legal documents, and personal memorabilia. Series 2 consists of audio and video tapes of programs Christy worked on in various capacities. Included, for example, are Broadside TV videos, WETS-FM Zeitgeist programs, and WKPT-FM programs. Also included are home movie films (8mm) of Christy family members.
Method of Acquisition
The Christy Family Papers were placed on deposit with the Archives of Appalachia on August 16, 1982 by Thomas Calvin Christy.
Eight photographic prints (seven black and white and one color) have been removed and placed in a box in the photographic storage area by accession number.
The collection was processed in February of 1987. The Finding Aid was revised by Marie Tedesco in 1991.
