The records reflect the activities of the judges of the court presiding in Jonesboro between 1830 and 1835 and consist of legal documents from cases appealed from other courts and largely concern debts and the settlement of estates. The documents include fiera facias, bills of cost, depositions, and writs of possession from cases appealed from other courts in Washington County. The majority of the cases concern estate settlements and debts.

Method of Acquisition
The records of the Tennessee Supreme Court of Errors and Appeals at Jonesborough were found in the Washington County Court Records that were placed in the Sherrod Library in 1958 and transferred to the Archives of Appalachia on February 15, 1979, accession number 1984-007. The records were opened for research on August 19, 1982.
