James Agee Film Project Photographs, 1875-1956 | Archives of Appalachia
Predomianant Dates: 1950-1951
ID: 500/AppMs 471
Created by: James Agee Film Project
Arrangement: The collection is arranged in three series, as follows: Series 1, Administrative Files, undated, Box 1; Series 2, Negatives, 1875-1956 and undated, Boxes 2-4; and Series 3, Prints, 1876-1956 and undated, Boxes 5-6.
The project originally assigned an alphanumeric filing arrangement to the images (ex.: A1; B1, etc.). The images have been arranged as much as possible in this order sequential order. However, because of gaps and missing numbers in the sequence, a new alphanumeric numbering system was assigned to each image in order to arrange images in consecutive numerical order. For example, the image identified as “A1” is now listed as “JA-1 (A1)”. Original negatives for which there were no corresponding prints were scanned and printed. These post-donation prints are found in Box 6.
