Scope and Contents: The Jessie A. Ackermann Collection includes correspondence written to Ackermann, 1887-1934; a scrapbook given to Ackermann by the Independent Order of Good Templars of South Australia in 1889; clippings kept by Ackermann, 1888-1928; miscellaneous professional and personal documents, 1882-1907; a Buddhist Sutra (ca. 1500) obtained by Ackermann on her travels to the Far East; and a number of black and white photographs of Ackermann, her friends and colleagues, and Australia and Australian aborigines. The collection focuses on Ackermann's WCTU missionary work, her work with peace organizations, her world travels, and life in Australia in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

The addition to the collection includes incoming correspondence, 1890-1928; program and lecture announcements, 1890s, 1905, and undated; and other miscellaneous documents, 1896-1915, and undated. These materials provide additional documentation of Ackermann's WCTU temperance activities.
